The activity was training on the Importance of Packaging in Product Marketing at the Karang Ayu group's cattle pen. "We express our gratitude to the Almighty, thanks to His grace, this event can be carried out according to plan," said Team Leader Dr. Ir Ni Made Ayu Gemuh Rasa Astiti, MP, Friday, May 26, 2023. At the event, she was accompanied by team members Dr. Ir I Gusti Agung Putu Eryani MT, and Dr. Dra AA Rai Sita Laksmi, M.Si. The implementation of the activity involves a team of various fields of science including animal husbandry, civil engineering, and cultural studies who are equally interested in Balinese cattle cultivation, waste management, and marketing of its products within the ecotourism framework. The training is expected to improve the knowledge of farmers in product marketing, where so far farmers have only focused on production and few are able and brave enough to dive directly into the field of marketing cattle products. Farmers are expected to be able to maintain their livestock, process their livestock waste, and market their products directly. We know that the shorter the marketing chain, the higher the profit farmers obtain in the sense that farmers sell their products directly to consumers without going through marketing institutions. It is known that every marketing institution passed through will incur costs and these costs will be charged to the product so that the price of the product will increase. "To improve the entrepreneurial spirit of farmers, training is needed, including how to package products so that they have high bargaining value," he said. With attractive packaging and labeling that explains the contents of the product, the use of the product, the location of the product, and product certification, it will be able to attract consumers.
Where the Law of Economics explains that the more popular the product, the more enthusiasts, the greater the profit that will be obtained. In addition to attractive packaging, of course, it cannot be separated from the material in choosing packaging that is adjusted to the product. Because here the product is solid organic fertilizer, of course, the most suitable packaging is a camp made from materials available locally so that it can provide job opportunities for residents.
