Strengthening BUMDes Institutions in Manduang Village

Assisting the community in strengthening BUMDes institutions in Manduang Village, Klungkung District, Klungkung Regency, the Community Service Institute of Warmadewa University (LPM Unwar) is implementing the Community Partnership Program (PKM). The mentoring activities will be carried out continuously for 6-7 months.

Head of the Unwar Community Service Team Drs. I Nyoman Senimantara, MSi., together with members Drs. Wayan Gede Sarmawa, MM., and Dr. Ida Bagus Udayana Putra, SE. MM., carried out the identification stage of what potentials exist in Manduang Village on Friday, May 7, 2021. Drs. Wayan Gede Sarmawa, MM., said that the community service that took the theme of strengthening BUMDes institutions in Manduang Village, Klungkung District, Klungkung Regency aims to find solutions on how to strengthen BUMDes in the village starting from strengthening the institution. "If the institution is strong, then our hope is that the human resources there will be able to explore the potentials in the village. These potentials will later be raised to become economic strengths to build businesses related to BUMDes," said Sarmawa. urthermore, it was said that if the economy in the village later improves, then the welfare of the community is also expected to increase. Because previously in Manduang village there was something called the Village Granary, but its development was not so good. The village granary then metamorphosed into a BUMDes. Through this BUMDes institution, the village's many potentials such as agriculture, tourism, services, PDAM water and others are expected to be worked on properly so that they can contribute to improving the welfare of the local community.

"Therefore, we from community Service are trying to go into the field to see the potential again and identify it, so that in the future it can be used as a solution with a priority scale to be developed into village businesses that can increase village income," he explained. PKM Unwar seeks to encourage the continued development of the village's very diverse potential, especially the greatest potential is water potential. "Hopefully this can be raised as a replacement for PDAM water, because so far PDAM water has not been smooth. Hopefully PDAM water can be replaced with water in the village, including being further developed for the manufacture of bottled water," he said.
