Unwar Community Service Team Develops Natural Tourism Facilities in Yeh Hoo Tabanan

November 10, 2023. Sustainable development is defined as infrastructure development that takes into account aspects of sustainability in terms of the economy, society, and natural environment.

The development of tourism facilities certainly has a positive impact on the local economy, harmonious relations between local communities as a result of economic equality, and a preserved natural environment as an important asset in the development of tourism objects.

The concept is a priority to consider considering that Bali has a wealth of natural environment that is wasteful and has the potential of a tourist destination. If this character is not maintained wisely, it will have an impact on the economic and social crisis in the tourism sector.

Therefore, the community service carried out by Ir. I Kadek Merta Wijaya, ST, M.Sc., IPM., ASEAN. Eng. at the Yeh Hoo Tourist Attraction takes into account the characteristics of the site, namely agricultural land and the source of the Yeh Hoo waterfall.

Studies conducted by Mr. Ir. I Kadek Merta Wijaya, ST, M.Sc., IPM., ASEAN. Eng. and members of the community service team stated that the Yeh Hoo area is very suitable for developing wellness tourism .

This is because it is supported by the potential of agricultural land and the natural springs of Yeh Hoo waterfall and the unspoiled hillside scenery. The concept of wellness tourism  offered by the Head of Community Service, Mr. Ir. I Kadek Merta Wijaya, ST, M.Sc., IPM., ASEAN. Eng. is social wellness, physical wellness , and emotional wellness .

Visitors heading to Yeh Hoo waterfall will pass through rice field embankments surrounded by wetland agricultural land that is still well maintained using the subak system.

Visitors form social relationships with wetland farmers through communication along the way to Yeh Hoo waterfall. Visitors can see how farmers plant and harvest rice, plow the fields, and engage in the rice cultivation system.

This relationship forms a good social character between visitors and farmers. The terraced agricultural land site  becomes an object used by visitors to do tracking activities  along the rice field embankments and down to the Yeh Hoo river.

The support of a beautiful environment creates a wellness atmosphere for visitors in tracking  sports activities . Physical wellness programs  can also be done by doing yoga activities near the Yeh Hoo waterfall or around the natural river to create optimal healing  for visitors.

The Yeh Hoo waterfall area, located at the bottom of the agricultural land area, creates a private  and quiet environment that supports meditation activities, and the sound of the waterfall and the flow of the river are sounds  that strengthen meditation concentration.

The agricultural environment and waterfall objects are the supporting power to create wellness conditions  and this concept is a solution in maintaining the sustainability of the agricultural and natural environment of Yeh Hoo.
