The Warmadewa University Community Partnership Program (PKM Unwar) in Petiga Village, Marga District, Tabanan Regency, provides appropriate technology transfer in processing livestock waste such as cow dung into organic fertilizer. The technology used is Biomi technology which produces quality organic fertilizer. Head of the Community Service Team Ir. Ni Ketut Sri Rukmini, MP, explained that PKM was implemented in Petiga Village by targeting a group of farmers. "This group of farmers raises 20 cows with 19 members.
Cattle farming produces quite a lot of cow dung waste that has not been optimally utilized," said Sri Rukmini accompanied by team members Ir. I Gede Sutapa, MP and Ir. Ni Ketut Etty Suwitari, M. Si. So far, cow dung has only been collected without proper processing, causing environmental problems such as pungent odors and damaging the aesthetics of the environment. Seeing this problem, the Unwar PKM Team provides appropriate technology transfer that is easy for partners to do in processing livestock waste such as cow dung into useful and valuable organic fertilizers with the application of Biomi technology.
"We also provide a solution to utilize organic fertilizer from cow dung waste for plants," he said. The community service activity was attended by the Head of Petiga Village, I Wayan Sugita and also attended by a member of the Tabanan DPRD, I Gede Oka Winaya, SE. Receiving the training and technology transfer, the livestock group felt happy and satisfied. Because the activity has been proven with quality product results. In addition to providing training and technology transfer, on this occasion the Unwar PKM Team also donated facilities and infrastructure for processing cow dung into organic fertilizer. "Our target is that partners can know, understand and master from 40% to 80% about processing livestock waste such as cow dung into useful and valuable organic fertilizer with the application of Biomi technology," he said.
Furthermore, he said that his party also hopes that partners can increase knowledge from 40% to 75% about the application of organic fertilizer from cow dung waste for plants. In addition, to reduce environmental pollution by 95% by cow dung because it has been processed into organic fertilizer.
