I Nyoman Muliana said that this community service program is carried out in the form of a Community Partnership Program (PKM). The implementation of this PKM is carried out using the theme of the youth empowerment program in Sumerta Kelod Village. There are 2 forms of activities carried out in this PKM. The PKM Youth Empowerment Activity in Sumerta Kelod Village, East Denpasar District, Denpasar was motivated by the low ability of these teenagers in communicative English and the absence of youth organizations that could accommodate them in learning activities.
Thus, this PKM activity was carried out in 2 forms, namely communicative English training and the formation of a youth learning organization. This PKM activity received support from both village leaders and partner members as indicated by the provision of very adequate learning places and facilities and the participation and attendance of training participants.
The obstacles encountered in this PKM activity were the absence of training participants and the Covid-19 pandemic situation which were overcome with persuasive approaches and implementation of activities in accordance with strict health protocols. The benefits obtained by partners from this PKM activity were an increase in their communicative English language skills.
The activity of forming the Sanggar Remaja Membaca organization was carried out using the mentoring method. This method was applied by providing an explanation of the importance of an organization as their container as well as mentoring the teenagers for the formation of the Sanggar Belajar Desa Sumerta Kelod organization.
