BANGLI, MataDewata.com | The Community Service Institute of Warmadewa University (LPM Unwar) is carrying out Community Service (PKM) activities or programs for coffee farmers in Kintamani, Bangli Regency in increasing the added value of coffee products. Centered at Giri Alam Coffee, Kintamani, Saturday (12/6/2021). The PKM Coffee Product Empowerment and Utilization activity was chaired by Dr. Ida Bagus Udayana Putra, SE., MM., along with members namely Dr. Ida Ayu Surasmi, SE., MM., Ak., and Dr. I Made Suniastha Amerta, SS., MPar., and collaborated with a lecturer of Agriculture at Warmadewa University, namely Dr. Ir. I Gede Pasek Mangku, MP., who provided counseling about coffee. Ida Bagus Udayana Putra said that the community partnership program implemented in Giri Alam Coffee was to encourage increased production, to potential and marketing systems. Collaborating with one of the Lecturers of the Faculty of Agriculture Unwar, namely Gede Pasek Mangku, is expected to provide various inputs. "Related to the way of processing coffee that is hygienic and beneficial for health. So it is not just the quantity of products that can be sold quickly but also have quality," explained the Head of PKM Unwar, Ida Bagus Udayana Putra. He added that with the community service at Giri Alam Coffee, coffee farmers not only gain useful knowledge for the coffee products they produce but are also able to increase added value to have superior quality in the market competition which has recently been quite rapid in coffee products. During the implementation of the activity, the Community Service Team and Partner Groups looked very enthusiastic in participating in the PKM activity. This well-packaged event succeeded in creating two-way communication to find out what the weaknesses of farmers and farming partners are in meeting quality coffee products. "In this activity, we can share and receive additional knowledge and solve problems faced," concluded Ida Bagus Udayana Putra. His members Ida Ayu Surasmi and Made Suniastha Amerta added that coffee products in Kintamani and Bali in general are not only able to dominate the local and national markets but continue to thrive in penetrating the export market.
