Gianyar, dewatanews.com - Silver craftsmen in the Sukawati area are encouraged to optimize the use of marketing cars in marketing their products and avoid dependence on investors or middlemen. The use of mobile marketing such as e-commerce stalls is expected to increase higher profits for craftsmen as capital to increase the capacity and quality of Sukawati silver craft products.
"In this very tight competition situation, generally craftsmen have never utilized technology-based information related to silver craft model trends according to market needs or consumer demand," said Academician of the Faculty of Economics, Warmadewa University (Unwar). I Gede Nyoman Carlos Wiswanatha. Mada., SE, MM on the sidelines of Community Service activities in Sukawati on Saturday (13/5).
Carlos said that so far, craftsmen are still using traditional marketing systems. Silver craftsmen still use the old habits carried out by SMEs in the industrial center area, namely being very dependent on investors/middlemen who come from several areas of their marketing area.
"Craftsmen do not yet have their own market share, orders that are worked on generally come from craft investors who have market access and links to international property markets," he said.
He emphasized that the impact is that investors/middlemen will determine the design and payment method that will be carried out in the buying and selling transaction. Craftsmen in this case do not have the ability to bargain when the middlemen have set the price or payment system. The end result is that the percentage of profit is actually greater for the middlemen than for the craftsmen, because so far the middlemen have been free to manipulate the price.
