Payangan Public Market is one of the largest traditional markets in Gianyar Regency, Bali Province with a total of 450 traders. The minimal information obtained by traders about the spread of COVID-19 has resulted in their lack of implementation in implementing PHBS. According to the research results, PHBS is a strategy that can prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the community. Traders must continue to be encouraged to improve PHBS in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19. However, in reality, the implementation of PHBS is very minimal in Payangan Public Market.
In addition, there is a lack of ability for traders to buy personal protective equipment or PPE, such as masks, Face Shields and Hand Sanitizers. This is due to the scarcity of PPE and also their lack of finances where currently the price of PPE is soaring. From the problems faced, the solution that can be offered is the need for a knowledge transfer program about the spread of COVID-19 to find out how to prevent it with the target of increasing knowledge to traders about preventing COVID-19 and increasing the implementation of PHBS. In addition, the program to support the implementation of PHBS is technology transfer and training on how to make PPE, namely Hand Sanitizer, Face Shield and masks.
The results of this activity are that the partner group plays an active role in every PKM activity with a percentage of 100% attendance and 100% active participation. With this activity, there has been an increase in the understanding of COVID-19 and an increase in the implementation of PHBS through activities to bring in experts and tutors (trainers) who have helped traders in the introduction of the COVID-19 virus and the implementation of clean and healthy living behaviors to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The partner group is also skilled in making PPE in preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus, namely making masks, Hand Sanitizer and Face Shield. dr. Luh Gede Pradnyawati, M.Kes. said that this Community Partnership Program involved Merta Nadi partners at the Payangan Public Market, Payangan District, Gianyar Regency. Based on the results of field observations, information on the problems faced by partners can be obtained, namely the minimal information obtained by traders in the market about how the COVID-19 virus spreads.
Their knowledge of COVID-19 is still lacking, especially in the implementation of social/physical distancing and the implementation of clean and healthy living behaviors (PHBS). Lectures or counseling related to the spread and prevention of COVID-19 for traders carried out by the health service center are less interactive, tending to be one-way. This activity is considered less effective because the information provided tends not to be absorbed optimally. Lack of ability of traders to buy personal protective equipment or PPE such as masks and Hand Sanitizers.
