EMPOWERMENT OF MERTASARI BEACH MANAGEMENT GROUPS IN PLANNING THE CONCEPT OF REVITALIZATION OF THE MERTASARI BEACH AREA AS AN ECOTOURISM AREA

Mertasari Beach is located in Sanur Kauh Village, South Denpasar District, and is a coastal tourist attraction. Intaran Traditional Village has been the manager since 2014. Mertasari Beach Tourism Manager as a partner can provide input on ideas or concepts related to the development, design, and quality of supporting facilities for beach tourism that are expected to be by the funding capabilities of the construction implementation that they will prepare later.

In addition, community involvement is also needed in searching for data needed in planning such as site size data, site ownership boundaries, and others. The problems faced by partners in the field are accessibility and parking problems, trade and fishing facilities, public open spaces, open fields and parks, and recreational support facilities. The solution to accessibility and parking problems is to equip roads with cycling activity facilities and rearrange the beachside pedestrian path. The solution to trade and fishing facilities is rearranging existing culinary trading places and building a fishermen's group hall. The solution to the problem of public open spaces, open fields, and parks is by arranging public green open spaces equipped with facilities for elderly recreation and regional landmarks. The solution to the problem of supporting recreation facilities is to develop children's recreation areas and outbound recreation, as well as provide facilities for securing beach activities and tourist piers.

Agus Kurniawan said that the arrangement of pedestrians on Mertasari Beach is arranged with a bicycle lane width of 3 meters with an elevation of 20 cm lower than the bicycle lane. Based on existing conditions in the field, some problems need to be prioritized, namely: The lack of street lighting at night. There is no special bicycle lane. Lack of posts or sheltered areas specifically for cycling activities, resulting in a lack of comfort for cycling during the day. On the rice field path, there is no lighting and security posts. Signage indicating directions/bicycle lanes is needed. Mineral water spots are needed at several points on the bicycle path, especially on long routes. There are no markings on the bicycle lane on the highway and residential roads. There is no parking for bicycles.

Another economic impact is that the arrangement of parking areas is a complementary facility for activity centers and parking locations must be easily accessible to activity centers without cutting off the flow of main road traffic. Central parking planning on Mertasari Beach to reduce on-street parking. Open spaces and stockpiles at Mertasari Beach have not been arranged. The concept of the KSPN Sanur parking area and the Mertasari Masterplan are different, and the existing parking conditions do not match the design concept of the KSPN Sanur or the Mertasari Masterplan. There is a Central Parking area at Mertasari Beach according to the Mertasari Masterplan and KSPN Sanur, but visitors prefer to park in areas closer to the beach.
