Optimizing the Potential of Sibang Gede Village

February 23, 2024 Warmadewa University (Unwar) held a KKN-PPM activity which is one of the compulsory courses. Field supervisor Nyoman Sumawidayani, S.IP., M.AP., said that the KKN activity aims to provide learning experiences to students through direct involvement in finding, recognizing, analyzing potential and solving community problems through the application of science, technology and art (iptkes).

KKN-PMM is implemented 2 (two) times a year, programmed in the odd semester in February and even semester in July. This year, the implementation of KKN in February carries the theme "Optimizing Village Potential to Minimize Community Disparities Through Community Empowerment".

Referring to the theme of the 2024 Warmadewa University KKN-PPM, Warmadewa University KKN-PPM students located in Sibang Gede Village, Abiansemal District, Badung Regency have implemented several work programs, namely Gertak Bersih Sungai Ayung, participating in assisting in Posyandu activities, Balinese Language Month Competition, Learning and Teaching Guidance at Sibang Gede Village Elementary School, counseling on good environmental management practices and planting plant seedlings. KKN-PPM students from Sibang Gede Village, Abiansemal District also contributed to supporting food security in Sibang Gede Village through the Eggplant Seed Planting program by involving the coordinator and the Sibang Gede Village food security team.

The seedling planting program was carried out on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, located around the Pura Dalem of Sibang Gede Traditional Village in Bajar Srijati. Students donated 400 eggplant seedlings to be planted in the food security land area owned by Sibang Gede Village. The eggplant seedling planting activity was attended by the Head of Sibang Gede Village, the Head of the BPD of Sibang Gede Village, the Head of the LPM of Sibang Gede Village, the Head of the Traditional Village of Sibang Gede Village, the Head of the Srijati Banjat Service, the Field Supervisor of the KKN-PPM of Warmadewa University of Sibang Gede Village, the Coordinator and Food Security Workers of Sibang Gede Village.

The Coordinator of KKN Unwar Sibang Village, I Kadek Rio Parsana Arta conveyed the purpose of the planting activity of 400 plant seedlings to increase food security. "We want to participate in contributing to increasing the availability of food that will be produced by the people of Sibang Gede Village. We KKN students hope that our seed planting activity can be useful for the people of Sibang Gede Village," he said. As a field supervisor, Nyoman Sumawidayani, S.IP., M.AP said that food security is one of the efforts to realize the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). "Through planting eggplant seeds, it is hoped that it can strengthen food security in Sibang Gede Village," he said.
