KARANGASEM, MataDewata.com | The Community Service Institution (LPM) through the Community Partnership Program (PKM) of Warmadewa University (Unwar) held a Community Service in Karangasem Regency, Saturday (17/4/2021). The activity was carried out by targeting the Merta Buana Livestock Farmers Group (KTT), Ababi Village, Abang District. The activity revealed the problems faced by partners, including the difficulty of developing businesses and the lack of online product sales promotion. The most worrying thing is the anxiety that the natural potential results they have are not utilized to increase the added value of production. Therefore, partners provide the opportunity for the PKM Team to provide counseling on good chili cultivation and processing chili into quality chili sauce. So that it can provide added value to the local community and can be marketed more widely. In that activity, the Unwar PKM Team was chaired by Dr. Ida Ayu Surasmi, SE., MM., Ak., with members Dr. Ida Bagus Udayana Putra, SE., MM., and Dr. I Made Suniastha Amerta, SS., M.Par. Ida Ayu Surasmi emphasized that the PKM activities carried out could be a solution for partners in the village in increasing the added value of processed products produced. Such as making chili sauce and other products produced such as Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) and tomato sauce. This opportunity is certainly used as an effort to summarize the problems faced by partners. In response to all of that, the team together with Unwar Agriculture Lecturers, namely Dr. Ir. Yohanes Parlindungan Situmeang, M.Sc., and Dr. Ir. Luh Suriati, M.Sc., shared very meaningful knowledge related to chili cultivation and chili processing. "Becoming a chili sauce that emphasizes quality such as product hygiene," said Yohanes, which was confirmed by Luh Suriati. On that occasion, another resource person was also present, namely Dr. Komang Agus Rudi Indra Laksmana, SE., MM., to participate in sharing knowledge related to understanding financial reports for partners. Many meaningful inputs were obtained, especially so that the product is packaged smaller but still maintains product hygiene, so that it can be sold on the market faster. The community service team and partner groups looked very enthusiastic in the PKM activity. Because with this activity, additional knowledge was obtained and the problems faced could be solved.
